It depends on several things- brand, model of printer, types of inks used, papers used, size printed, etc. I can say from experience that previous canon and hp photo printers I have had range from $.80-$1.20 per 8x10 at the printers best print quality. For just a few prints here and there, photo printers are great- for larger jobs, sending it to a printer is much cheaper

What is a photo printer?

Most people have basic printers in their homes or offices, which can take care of basic needs, such as printing documents or low quality pictures. On the other hand, many people are turning to specialized photo printers these days because they can print high quality photos as if the pictures were developed at a store. A photo printer can print anything that a normal printer can, but they are designed to do a near-perfect print of any and all pictures. Since they are designed to put out high quality photos, they can print on any type of photo paper. Obviously, many people choose a photo printer for their pictures because they look so much better than on a regular printer. While there are some cheap photo printers available, many of them cost around the same price as a regular printer. Of course, this can range from less than one hundred dollars to more than a few hundred dollars. Unless you are a photographer though, a basic, high-quality photo printer will do the perfect print job for your needs. Just like many other technological devices, photo printers have been steadily decreasing in their base price because they have been available for quite some time. Without a problem, you can find a great but cheap photo printer at any electronics store. Photo printers are designed to print pictures, so they normally require glossy printing paper - much like the paper used for developing photos at any store. Unfortunately, this paper is a little bit more expensive than normal printing paper, which should be obvious. The price difference between printing your own photos and having them developed is very little, but the convenience of being able to print photos yourself draws many people into buying a photo printer. In the past few years, photo printers have grown in quality because more and more people take their own pictures. Many more teens are picking up cameras and snapping photos that they need printed, so a photo printer can be a great addition to any home. Undoubtedly, a photo printer will help any family print their photo memories.

Photo Printer?

Choose a photo printer that prints in a high DPI (dots per inch) as this will make your photos print in much higher quality. Also choose a printer that includes ink cartridges, if the printer doesn't include ink that can be very expensive. Also check which type of memory format the printer supports, most photo printers support SD cards because some older models only support specific flash cards. Also it's generally a good idea to stick with name brands, you can expect high quality prints and printers that include warranties as well.

How much does a 3-D printer cost?

An industrial 3d printer, like those used to print titanium body parts can easily cost $100,000 dollars or more. Cost depends on how big and fast you need your printer to be, though, and what materials you need to print with. A medium printer with less options of materials and a slower print time can cost about $10,000. And now you can buy the most popular home, desktop 3D printers for $500-$1500 from what I see on Comparaboo. 3D Printing Industry is a good resource for all kinds of more detailed 3D printing information, from industrial to home use.

Which canon photo printer has the best quality pictures?

Cannon does have their own photo printer and the reviews out on some are about 3.5 to 4 star reviews. Depending on the features you want and how much printing you do will depend on the printer. No matter the brand you might want to look at how many ink cartridges it takes to print and the price to replace the cartridges. That is a bigger determining factor over whether you purchase a cannon or not.
