What is the average cost of a pool re-plaster?

I live in Southern California and my pool cost around $7,000.00 to re-plaster and re-tile. I have a large pool with attached spa. I also had some plumbimg repairs (new Jandy valves, new return lines) which were included in this price. They also replaced the side steps (in the deep end), as these don't survive the demolition. This was in summer, 2003.

Depending on the part of the country, $3,000- $4,000. There is a new process available that just removes a thin layer of the old plaster, and a new coat of plaster is "painted" on the pool surface. It may be cheaper, but I do not know anyone who has used that method yet to know if the results are satisfactory.

I just got a quote from my pool guy.

I live in Northern New Jersey and have a built-in 1972 Anthony Pool. It is 16x36 and has 450 SF of water surface area. My tiles and coping are in good shape, so all I need is re-plastering. My pool guy quoted me a price of $4500 ($9/SF with the minimum charge being for 500SF). That cost included draining and prepping the surface, installing a bond-kote preperation over the old plaster and then replastering with white plaster. The price would be highter if he installed one of the fancier aggregate coatings.

Luckily my tile and copinng are in good shape, because if I needed coping, that would run approx $60 per linear foot.

we are replastering a pool that is 50 X 22 and it is 60 years old--it is costing around 12,000.00. We are doing a pebble fina finish--not marsite.
