It depends on how much you buy....I just paid $2.44 per gallon for 100gallons. I think it goes down 10 cents for every 100 gallons.
Some things to watch out for:
Most companies offer an "Introductory" or "First-Time" fill rate. Be causious of these because they are usually set to buy your business by such offers. Ask them what there normal delivery rate is!
Most companies charge additional "non-disclosed" fees, and normally don't tell you about them upfront.
I would recommend that you ask a friend or neighbor that uses propane, on how they like the service they get rather than looking for the cheapest price. Remember that "Some things are too good to be true" & "You get what you pay for."
Supply and service should always come before the best price.
I have propane, and get my service from CHS / Cenex Propane. They may not always be the cheapest, but their rates are fair.
propane costs varies just as the cost of gasoline varies and it can change depending on how much you buy and how you take delivery, there is no fixed cost. On march 5th 2011 paid $3.05 per gallon for 7 gallons purchased at a local gas station in so. Calif for filling a tank I carried in.
My last propane fill up was in July and it was a whopping $4.14 per gallon. I've been told recently that my monthly energy costs are the highest ever seen--by 3 different people.
Spring Valley Propane in Elizabeth, Colorado charged $1.69/gallon today November 16th, 2009.
I just paid $2.76/gal in Northwest Montana. (Sept.) It was much cheaper last summer at $2.25/gal.
It costs about $1,000,000
Around $75 it's usually $15 for the 20lb tanks.
A 3,500 square foot home in Minnesota using radiant in-floor heat (during winter of 2010/2011) cost between $750 and $850 per month for propane (about 375 gallons per month x $2.26 per gallon). Propane Prices at Federated Co-ops, Cambridge, MN: * On 12/15/2010 = $2.129 per gallon * On 01/26/2011 = $2.259 per gallon
Prices on both commodities depend on the market for which they are most closely associated with as well as the time of year ("season"). A gallon (Methane converted from MMBTu unit of measure to Gallon) to gallon comparison of Methane ("Natural Gas") to Propane currently tracks close, in some markets, Methane yeilding just under a dollar & propane above a dollar. (Note: prices are always subject to market conditions; supply, demand, associated expenses to take the product to market.)
In examining the costs of natural gas vs. propane, the rates of local energy utilities and propane companies vary and will need to be taken into account for correct comparison. But to get the cost comparison between the two fuels, you must compare the cost of the energy value which can be obtained through local propane companies and utility companies. While utility companies provide price per cubic foot, propane companies provide price per gallon. Natural gas availability will usually determine whether or not propane can be used because many municipalities will require the use of natural gas if a business or residence is within a certain distance of a natural gas main line.
What is price of propane gas in fort lauderdale
We just purchased 100 gallons in Bryan, Texas at $2.90/gallon. This seems high, since I thought propane would cost less than auto fuel per gallon.
$2,125 1000 x $2.5 = $2,500 $2,500 x 85% = $2,125
WHAT IS CURRENT COST OF PROPANE IN DAYTON, OHIO
It's free! You just have to pay for the explosion proof electrical and vehicle crash protection around it.
$2.68 9/14/11 fair market price
Around $75 it's usually $15 for the 20lb tanks.
That would depend on it`s size or input rating. You can get the input rating off the unit nameplate and divide that # by 2500 and that will tell you how many cubic feet of propane vapor the furnace burns per hour. If you buy propane by the gallon ask your supplier how many cubic feet of vapor a gallon of liquid propane yields and you can figure your answer.
Propane can be slightly more cost efective to opperate.
