The theory is it is because the metal particles expand when they get hot and then goes back to its original size once its cooled down in the summer, but in reality it is because us humans get shorter and shorter. So we think it is getting taller when actually we are just getting shorter.
When the sun heats the metal it is made of it expands, therefore making it taller. Also the taller it gets the more confusing it makes the people trying to research the subject so why cant they use some other metal and make it so it doesn't grow taller.
Everything expands by in summer. Objects expand when exposed to heat and contract when exposed to cold. This is one of the most essential rules of physics. Have you ever crossed over a bridge and noticed some metal parts on the road (shark teeth shape) that divide the bridge in sections? In summer time the "teeth" are closer to each other, because of the heat in the air and road. Same thing happens with telephone and electric wires on poles. They are more straight in winter and more bend in summer. Now back to the Eiffel tower: the reason why expansion is so noticeable in the Eiffel tower is because the whole structure is made of the same kind of steel, and the expansion is uniform and omnidirectional.
it grows 2cm in the summer and shrinks 2 cm in the winter
Ane Toft og Pernille bjørklund dere er ikke veldig smarte ;)
Metal expands in the heat and shrinks in the cold.
The Eiffel Tower gets bigger in the summer becaus of Thermal Expansion. It gets 15cm taller.
Eiffel tower
The Eiffel Tower is biger than the blackpool tower at 300m to the blackpool tower at 158m
The Eiffel Tower is 324m tall and the Sky Tower is 328m tall.
yes
bigger the the Eiffel tower
Metal will expand when warm in summer. So the Eiffel Tower will grow taller in summer, and become smaller in winter.
the summer of 1887
The Eiffel Tower construction started in the Summer of 1887, and finished in the early Spring of 1889. The Eiffel Tower opened on May 6th 1889.
I presume you mean the Willis (also known as Sears) Tower, which is 1451 feet tall. The Eiffel Tower is 1056 feet.
no jimmey
No. The Eiffel Tower is more than three times taller than the Clock Tower of the Palace of Westminster (Big Ben). Big Ben 96.3 metres. Eiffel Tower 324 metres.
