At least 2/3 of teenagers drink alcohol in th U.S.
I agree that many teens do drink alot.
But i think this is the governments fault, i don't believe that
there is enough activies for teens anymore.
None what the teens of today can be intersted in.
I think the government needs to think of to get teens interested in
other activities like Skateboarding, swimming, ice skating ect,
i think the could start by going to schools asking teens of today what
they would like to do after school, weekend and holidays and
work from there and after that they could work on places where teens
could go and full fill this activity. Thank you.
About half of U.S. teens who start drinking alcohol before age 14 will be addicted to it at some point. Only 9% of people in the U.S. who wait until they turn 21 will be addicted at some point.
If 1/3 of teenagers drink three beers a day, and the other 2/3 drink none, then the "average" teenager drinks one beer a day. Averages don't mean much. Underage drinkers account for 25 percent of the alcohol consumed in the United States, according to a report issued by the US Department of Health, Education and Welfare. It goes on to say that nearly 1/3 of high school students report binge drinking at least once a month. Here are some other bits of information: -- About 87 percent of adults who drink had their first drink before age 21. -- About 81 percent of high school students have consumed alcohol, compared with 70 percent who have smoked cigarettes and 47 percent who have used marijuana. -- The gender gap for drinking is disappearing. Female ninth-graders were just as likely to be drinkers as male ninth-graders. -- Most teens who experiment with alcohol continue using it. Among high school seniors who had tried alcohol, 91.3 percent still were drinking in the 12th grade. -- Those who begin drinking before the age of 15 are four times more likely to become alcohol dependent than those who begin drinking at age 21.
one out of every five teenagers smoke and one out of every 4 have tried alcohol by the age of 14, if you think your child might have a problem with drugs or alcohol contact your local rehab facillity or counleling center for teens but approach the subject in a non-threating way it might only encourage the behavior to continue, do it alone without friends and family ..."the teenager" will feel like their on trial and will become defensive right away, go to teendrugabuse. com also count and contain your percription drugs kids are abusing them like crazy these days , lock up the medication, even cough syrup contains dxm a highly powerful hallucingen that when drank quickly can give them a fast high ,also co2 cartrages can be abuse, household cleaners can be used to make meth, their alot more dangerous stuff that you could be over looking, also drug tests are available at any wall-greens or Walmart and cost about 30 dollars and will pick up any drug a-z. no matter how long ago they said they did it , any drug stays within the bodys system for thirty days. best of luck to you, and watch them when they pee to make sure their not putting a fast one on you, surprize them in the morning with the test right when they wake up after comming home from a late night they'll be too tired to argue with you and the morning pee shows more drugs if their s any in the system.

Some teenagers choose not to drink due to personal or family beliefs, health reasons, religious beliefs, or concerns about the negative effects of alcohol. Peer pressure, lack of access, or fear of getting into trouble with parents or the law can also contribute to teenagers abstaining from drinking.
Teenagers consumed an average of 22 gallons of milk in 2001
One common stereotype about teenagers is that they are lazy and unmotivated. However, many teenagers are hardworking, driven, and committed to their goals. This stereotype fails to recognize the diversity of personalities and work ethics among teenagers.
