Hi, I found this on the World Health Organization web site (info below):
"In mid-1990s, vaccines to provide "basic" coverage for tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and measles cost about US$ 1 per child."
As you can see, the polio vaccine is here included as part of a package of vaccines.
When you include transportation of vaccines and the labor to administer the vaccines, the price increases a great deal. According to the WHO web site, that package of vaccines along with hepatitis B and Hib vaccines can cost $20-40 per child.

∙ 10y agoChickenpox vaccine may cost $100 cash price for adults; however, most Departments of Health offer free vaccination for children and some adults, and low cost adult vaccination. Contact your local Department of Health to find low cost vaccination resources in your area.

A vaccine was invented in 1974 to prevent chickenpox, and medications were invented in the late 20th century to treat chickenpox and other viruses in the herpesvirus family. However, chickenpox is a virus that remains in your body for life and can cause shingles later. There is no viral "cure" that eliminates the virus, although your immune system clears chickenpox disease within one or two weeks.
