If you want to run your own accounting firm you need to be a CPA which requires a bachelors degree, one year or 40,000 hours of intern training, and you must pass a 4 part test with a 77% or higher. Each part is 8 hours long and is spanned over 1 year. It costs $1000 to take and you can take it as many times as you would like. Only 15% of people who take this test pass it the first time.
