I think perhaps most insects don't even live that long, so you'd have to extrapolate data from a shorter time period. I guess this also depends on the species.

What food does the average person eat just over 7 pounds of in a year?

Insects. It is estimated that with the USDA and FDA standards on the amounts of bug and insect parts "allowable" in packaged foods, that the average American eating foods that meet standards, could eat an average of four pounds of insect parts each year. This estimate does not account for packaged foods that might exceed the standards. Neither does it account for produce purchased from local and organic* farms that are not packaged foods regulated by the standards for packaging.*organic farmers are restricted in the use of pesticides which account for a major reduction in "insect parts", along with mechanical washing of produce, in the food stream.

What is the main ingredient of ketchup?

Ketchup does not actually contain insect ingredients, but the FDA does allow a certain number or ration of insect parts to many foods. It is logical to assume any harvested food will contain a certain amount of insects, despite the best efforts of farmers. It is estimated Americans consume between 1 and 2 pounds of insect parts per year in processed foods.

No. The spider is not an insect, because it does not have six legs, three body parts and antennae.

Can a person requiring a Kosher meal have an unprepared salad?

Typically not. Even if the salad is purely vegetarian (and therefore would have none of the kosher-meat issues) there are many vegetables that are cultivated in a way that allows small insect parts to be mixed in with the vegetables as long as it stays below a federally mandated percentage. For a kosher person, any percentage of insect parts is unacceptable.
