Usually 50-60 miles, but I've seen it come on with as little as 30 miles to go. If most of driving before that had been city driving, it will assume the same, and you can stretch it quite a bit more if you are then on a highway, especially with cruise control, and especially if around 55 MPH, or at a relatively low RPM in the highest gear.
