It MUST HAVE 9 to 13 LBS. NO higher are Lower are you will have starting and running problems.
Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the schrader valve located on the fuel rail that feeds the fuel injectors.
The fuel pressure should be 45 psi .
NO THERE IS NOT
Fuel pressure should read no less then 9 LBS. and no more then 13 LBS. And yes it should hold the pressure with key on, engine off.
With ignition "ON," engine "OFF" and fuel pump running, pressure should be 385-430 kPa (56-62 psi).
The fuel pressure for a 1990 D 21 pickup is dependent upon the size of the engine. In general, the fuel pressure should be approximately 20 pounds per square inch.
To test the fuel pressure on a 1996 Suburban 1500, first locate the fuel pressure test port on the fuel rail. Use a fuel pressure gauge, attaching it securely to the port. Start the engine and observe the gauge reading; it should typically be between 58-64 psi when the engine is running. If the pressure is outside this range, it may indicate a problem with the fuel pump, filter, or pressure regulator.
Fuel pressure regulator is located on the driver side fuel rail.
The fuel pressure for a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban typically ranges from 55 to 62 psi (pounds per square inch) when measured at the fuel rail. It's essential to ensure that this pressure is maintained for optimal engine performance. If the fuel pressure is outside this range, it could indicate issues with the fuel pump, fuel filter, or fuel pressure regulator. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for specific diagnostic procedures.
do fuel pressure test
under hood, on fuel rail which is connected to each fuel injector there should be a valve that looks like a tire valve. That is the shrader valve, test fuel pressure there.
You should only have 44 psi at WOT - maybe you have a faulty fuel pressure regulator.
