The amount of grain a horse eats varies from horse to horse. So giving a hard answer to this can be hard. However it is widely accepted that a horses diet should never consist of more than 50% grains or concentrates(Pelleted feeds are safer and better for horses than straight grains like oats or corn.) So if you have a 1,000 pound horse and he gets 20 pounds of feed daily, then 50%( or less )would be 10 pounds( or less )of grains. so 10 x 365 = 3650 (again or less) of grains a year. It is however recommended that you never feed that much grain to a horse on a daily basis.
this mainly depends on the horse's workload... is it a hard working lesson horse? it would eat more. Is it a semi-retired horse? it would eat less.
they eat pretty much the same as any other horse......grain ,hay, grass, and clean water. every horse's diet is different depending on their weight, ow much they excersize, and their age
ponies eat a normal horse diet, such as grain, hay, etc. and grass.
How much a horse eats in a day depends on the horse and its work load. Some horse that are doing no work or are just obese can survive on just pasture. Other eat 15-30lbs of hay and grain per day. It all depends on the condition of the horse and it's use.
Same as any other horse- grass and grain.
enough for 1.13 million people to eat off
Horses can eat grass, hay, grain, apples, carrots, sugar cubes, and much more...Sea grass and moss.
Horses mainly eat- grass, hay, treats, and of course the grain you give them in the winter time...
How much grain a horse eats depends on how much work it is doing. Horses that do not do any work usually don't need any grain, just hay and grass. Some horses that are hard to keep weight on need grain, even if they don't do much work.
In the wild, Mustangs eat grasses and other plants. When domesticated, they eat hay, grass, and sometimes grain or supplements.
Totally depends on what the horse is doing. A thoroughbred acting as a paddock buddy will probably eat only grass and hey, a racehorse would be fed hay and a specific type of grain. But in general they eat the same thing any horse would eat: hay, grass, grain, carrots, apples, etc.
Donkeys are herbivores. Donkeys eat the same basic foods as a horse except a Donkey can eat near inedible vegetation that is much harder to digest. Grain, grass, tree leaves, fruit, corn, etc.
