The amount of grass a goat eats really depends on the breed. A Pygmy goat will eat up to 1/2 a pound of grass a day. A fainting goat eats only about 0.1 pounds of grass. So if you want a goat to mow your lawn for A Pygmy goat is the best.

A young, newborn calf eats no grass for the first few weeks of its life. By the time it is a couple months old he begins to sample some grass that his momma is eating, but doesn't start consuming it by the time he's over three to four months old. By that time he may be eating around 2 to 3% of his body weight as-fed (maybe a little more, depending on the quality of the grass). As he gets older, he will eat more. By weaning he'll be able to consume around 6 to 7% of his body weight as-fed of grass per day.

It depends a whole lot of factors: how much grass there is, how tall it is, how many blades are there, what kind of grass, how old is the cow and what kind of cow.

How many kg of grass can a 400 kg cow eat in a day?

On average a cow will consume 2% of her body weight in dry matter per day. Grass is usually 85% water (hence 15% dry matter). Thus, the calculations are as follows: 400 kg x 0.02 = 8 kg DM 8 kg DM / 0.15 DM in grass = 53.33 kg of grass as-fed per day. Thus you can estimate a 400 kg cow may eat around 53 kg of grass per day.

How many tons of food does 1 cow eat per day?

Certainly not much, especially if you are going in terms of tons, not pounds (lbs). A 1000 lb cow with or without a calf will eat 25 lbs DM of forage per day. This amount changes with moisture content, so if the grass she eats has a 60% moisture content, she'll eat maybe around 40 lbs of grass per day, as fed. In terms of tons, that's 0.02 tons per day. If you were looking for a much bigger or grandioso number for how much a cow eats per day, it looks like you're plumb outta luck!

How many head of cattle per 40 acres?

That all depends on where you live. You will need to visit your local county extension office to see what the average stocking rate is for your area relative to pasture health and length of grazing. For some areas, you can have 1 cow per acre, but for other areas you may only have enough grass for one cow per 40 acres. Hopefully your area has much more moisture than that so you can put more cows on in that size of pasture. Just remember: stocking rate is based on number of animal units (1 x 1000 lb cow with or without a calf consuming 25 lbs of dry matter per day) per month.

How many times does an 150 lbs cow produce dung in 1 day?

There is no "cow" that will weigh at that weight. A CALF will weigh at that weight, not a cow. And to answer your question, it would be as many times as it wants to. Which can be anywhere from 2 to 6 times a day.
