According to IGN.com, the minimum video card requirements are "NVIDIA GeForce 7800, ATI X1800, Intel HD 3000, or better (256 MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)."
The GeForce 7800 starts at $80 and the ATI X1800 is about $60. The Intel HD 3000 is integrated graphics which is built into the motherboard, so your computer may or may not have that depending on its model.
A graphics card that fits into an internal slot on the motherboard. A basic graphics card is usually in a standard computer. A gaming computer will have a much more powerful graphics card, even one cooled by its own fan.
No, you pretty much need a graphics card for anything now
You should first find a graphics card that your motherboard supports. You should next determine how much graphics power you need, such as the amount of onboard RAM of the card and the speed of the memory. It is also helpful to read reviews about the card and to comparison shop to find a card that meets your needs.
If there is a dedicated card, it's commonly called a graphics card. Some computers have a graphics chip set on the motherboard, this is called integrated graphics. These are usually inferior to a dedicated card, but much cheaper.
graphics cards are support memories for graphical instructions which may slow down the computer speed by keeping too much pending work for the RAM. So, the graphics card handles the tough job of graphics stationary storing until the processor is free to process them. And intel graphics card is a graphics card which supports or works only with intel processors .
The eVGA nVidia GeForce 9500 GT PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card needs a PCI-Express card slot and more powerful power supply. It also runs much faster, can be used for SLI, and has two DVI outputs. The eVGA e-GeForce 6200 256MB AGP Graphics Card requires an AGP8x card slot and is not nearly as powerful as the 9500 GT.
it all depends what type of computer you have for instance mine is a vostro 1520 and it has 4 GB of ram and 2.0 gz processor with a Intel duo core processor. it works great check how much ram u have and your processor and graphics card then if it is higher then 1gz 512mb of ram and a good graphics card then u are good to go hope i can help
Graphics cards are very cheap these days, even a $50 card would be much better than using the onboard graphics.
It depends on where you are buying it from.
A 1GB card is listed as the minimum, and a 2GB is the recommended.

Well i dont have much information about the laptop but most likely yes. You dont have an amazing graphics card, but the sims 3 is not a very graphics intensive game and just about any graphics card will play it.
