You need to find the spot price of gold. go to monex.com and you will see this. you can also go to cnbc.com and go to markets anfd it will be posted as well.

now you need to know that gold comes in different purities. 14k is approximately .585 or 58.5% pure. so you take the spot price of gold and multiply it by .585 . this will give you the value of an ounce of troy 14k gold. now you need to divide this number by the number of grams in a troy ounce.

1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams

So take the spot price of gold ( measured in troy ounces)

multiply this by the purity of the gold. 14k is .585 ,18 is .75 etc

then divide it by the number of grams in the ounce.this will tell you the true value if a gram of 14k gold.
