The WRF which is normally associated with .22 WRF stand for Winchester Rim Fire. It is a rim fire Cartridge which was first made in 1890.
If it truly does not have the serial number on it in either of the two places it was originally stamped, it is not worth much. Look closely on the bottom of the receiver frame (on the lower tang behind the trigger and on the forward edge frame).
