The classic children's toy "Cabbage Patch Kids" came out in the year 1978 but did not become very popular until the 1980s. The original dolls are very collectible on today's market.
Cabbage Patch Kids were created by artist Xavier Roberts in 1978. Coleco, started produced the dolls in 1982. Hasbro bought the rights in 1988 and then Mattel in 1994. In 2001 Toys"R"Us took over the brand. Play Along partnered with QVC and started producing the dolls.
