Put the bell on your lap, position the lead pipe away from your head. Look down towards the bell. The model number should be engraved in that area. If you're looking for the serial number, I'd try looking on a valve casing, often the second valve.
The song Rock N Roll was on the Led Zeppelin 4 album, second song. however on the first album jimmy page used a fender telecaster, then he changed to a 1959 Gibson les paul standard given to him from Joe Walsh (modified with a shaved neck) and was used on the Second led zeppelin album, but on The song remains the same film, it shows jimmy page using a gibson les paul standard, however it's very hard to determine what guitar he used in the studios.
Gibson has created two different "Maestros" over the years, and knowing which one you're trying to sell would make a large difference in what it's worth. For the modern Gibson Maestro guitar - expect a second-hand or very gently used model to sell for $60 - $100, whether it's acoustic or electric. These are still available new with a variety of starter accessories for around $150.For the vintage vibrolo effect from the 60s -these can be worth anywhere from $100 - $300 or more depending on the specific model & condition. If this is the item you'd like to sell, start by searching online for similar items for sale, including looking up sold listings on eBay to see what one similar to yours might have sold for recently.
I play guitar professionally and own a 1979 Gibson ES347TD. I'm pretty sure that the Gibson Melody Maker is currently Gibson's most affordable guitar. It lists for less than US$530.00 and typically retails for way less than that. I've seen it as low as 350 bucks! Forty percent off list would be even less than that, so maybe you could do better. By the way, Epiphone is Gibson's second brand (one of many), similar to Fender's Squier line. Those instruments sell for a lot less. The inexpensive guitars are good entry-level instruments, but they are not suitable for professional use. However -- and this purely my opinion, which will be refuted vociferously by many -- I think that you get more bang for the buck with the Epiphones in the moderate price range than you do with the Gibsons. In other words, if you're spending less than, say, a thousand bucks, you'll get a better Epiphone axe than a similarly priced Gibson. --- ya that and some low level sg's are pretty cheap, or a les paul jr is only 600 Epiphones aren't "unsuitable for professional use". The Beatles, John Lee Hooker, The Strokes, Oasis, The All-American Rejects and Carol Kaye are just a few examples of professional (some of them legendary) players who have used Epiphones in their career. Epiphone's archtops are especially well made, in my opinion superior to their Les Pauls and SGs. I have seen $500 Epiphone archtops like the Dot Standard and the Riviera beat out a $1000 Gibson ES-333 for sound, playing comfort and cosmetics.
