CorrectionIt's not possible to tell how much a bill is worth based on its serial number alone. Serial numbers are counters and a security feature but rarely* affect a bill's value.

The bill's date and series letter (if any) is much more important. All that can be said without a date is that $2 bills dated 1976 or later are generally only worth face value if you got one in change.

Older ones can be worth anything from a few dollars to many thousands but without a date it's not possible to determine anything specific.

(*) Some collectors will pay extra for numbers with a special pattern, e.g. 12345678, or low numbers such as 00000015.
