With modern minting methods, it is just about impossible to produce a genuine double headed (or tailed) coin.

The only possibility for a genuine coin is that one side looks as you would expect with a raised design, the other side would have the same design indented into the coin in reverse (like you would not expect). This would be because the previous coin had not been ejected from the die before the new blank was inserted. These coins may have some small collector value.

The other possibility is that you have a trick coin sold as a novelty or in magic shops.
