First check the other quarters in your pocket change. ALL coins in the U.S. are struck so that their backs point in the opposite direction to the front, if you flip the coin sideways like the page of a book.

If your coin matches the orientation of all the other billions of quarters out there, it's an ordinary coin worth 25 cents.

If the back and front both point the SAME direction when flipped side to side, then you could have an error coin that might be worth $75 or more, but it would have to be inspected in person to make sure it isn't a fake.
