BOTOX cosmetic is measured in units. Each bottle of BOTOX cosmetic that a doctor receives contains 100 units of BOTOX cosmetic as freeze-dried powder which must be diluted with saline-water added- in order to be injected. For maximum benefit, it is recommended that a patient receive a minimum of 25-50 units between the eyebrows to smooth frown lines, 25-35 units for forehead lines, and 10-15 units for each eye area (crow's feet), to achieve results that last 90-120 days.

It depends on what size syringe is being used. They can be anywhere from 1ml to 100ml. 1cc of botox (or botox/saline solution) equals 1ml. If you are trying to compare prices between per cc and per syringe find out: 1. Dilution ratios for each doctor. The more parts saline to botox, the weaker the botox injection. 2. What size syringe the doctor at the price/per syringe place uses. Then do your math. For example: Doctor 1 has a dilution ratio of 1:1 ( 1 part botox to 1 part saline). He charges $220 per syringe, and the syringe size is 10ml. Doctor 2 (by the cc) has a dilution ratio of 1:2 (1 part botox to 2 parts saline). He charges $10 per unit (cc). For doctor 1: A) Take the cost of the syringe ($220) and divide by the number of ml (10). The result is 220. B) Take the dilution ratio and divide the parts of botox by the parts of saline. The result is 1. C) Divide the result of A by the result of B to find out what your ACTUALLY paying for botox: $220/10=22; 22/1=22. $22 per ml (cc) of STRAIGHT, UNDILUTED BOTOX. For doctor 2: A) Take the dilution ratio and divide the parts of botox by the parts of saline. The result is 1/2 (one half, or .5). B) Take the cost per cc and divide by the results of A to find out what you are ACTUALLY paying for botox: 1/2=.5; 10/.5=20. $20 per ml (cc) of STRAIGHT, UNDILUTED BOTOX. Therefore, doctor B at $10 per unit has the best pricing. T his might seem complicated, but if you do each step on paper it is really quite easy.

What are the chemical components of botox?

Botox, short for Botulinum toxin, is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. The chemical components of Botox include: Botulinum Toxin Type A: This is the primary active ingredient in Botox. It is a complex protein that acts as a neurotoxin. It works by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter, at the neuromuscular junction, which temporarily paralyzes the muscle and reduces wrinkles. Human Serum Albumin: Botox preparations may also contain human serum albumin, a protein found in human blood plasma. It is used to stabilize the botulinum toxin and extend its shelf life. Sodium Chloride: Botox may include sodium chloride (salt) as a buffer to help maintain the stability of the product. Clostridium Botulinum Protein Complex: In addition to the primary botulinum toxin, there are other proteins and compounds from Clostridium botulinum present in Botox formulations. It's important to note that Botox is used in very small and highly controlled quantities for medical and cosmetic purposes. When administered by a trained medical professional, it can temporarily relax muscles and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. However, the potency and potential risks of Botulinum toxin necessitate careful handling and administration.

Where can you buy botox?

You cannot just go out and buy BOTOX. BOTOX needs to be administered to you by a clinic or spa. One would not want to perform BOTOX treatments on themselves without prior knowledge, as it could pose serious side-effects and visually undesired outcomes. If one wants to receive BOTOX, they need to go to a reputable clinic and schedule an appointment.
