It always depends on the breed of the dog. Most vets will not clip bthem until they are at least 4 months old, in which case they have to be put under anistecia, and

We pay about $35 (and that gets a lot of stuff done... wash, cut, blow dry, blueberry facial, glands depleted, etc. ) dependent upon what services are received. I suppose if you want to go full tilt, it could cost you around $50. This would be at the Purrfect Groomer in West Sacramento, CA. We love the place, and so does our dog. Usually around $15.00, but you can buy clippers and try yourself.

You could cut a small dogs nails with human nail clippers. Larger dogs nails would not fit inside the clipper so it wouldn't work. It is better to buy a set of clippers made for dogs though. They are made specifically for dogs nails and will work better.

Normally if an owner is concerned about the length of their pets claws then they will take them to the vets to get them cliped as there is a point on the nails that if you cut past will cause the hamster to bleed, maybe even to death. Therefore there is not a special job where all you do is clip hamsters nails, however this and many other jobs are part of being a vetenary nurse (an assistant to a vet)
If you're nail starts to grow over your skin or one a week it all depends on the speed your nails grow at.
