Because the amount of energy needed to reduce metallic aluminium from its ores is much larger than the amount of energy required to reduce iron from its ores. Reprocessing aluminium is therefore cheaper than smelting new aluminium by a larger margin than that for reprocessed iron. Also, but to a much smaller extent, because recycled aluminium is a much more uniform product, which melts directly to a material that can be used, whereas recycled steel tends to consist of a great mixture of different alloys, and melts to a material with all sorts of admixtures that is not suitable for many uses without further refining.
1000 kg aluminium oxide contain 470,588 kg aluminium.
hey James.
Boron is a metalloid, while aluminium is a metal. The size of the aluminium atom is much greater than boron, so electropositivity increases from boron to aluminium. But then electropositivity decreases from aluminium to thallium due to the poor shielding effect of the d10 orbital.

Soda cans are made of 100% aluminium. What you weigh is what you get!

Aluminium is light, strong and cheap. It is easily and cleanly recycled. If you drop it it doesn't break, like glass. It doesn't puncture as easily as plastic or cardboard food and drink containers. It is light so it doesn't cost so much to transport it.
9.13g Al will give 34.5g Al2O3 when fully oxidized
This would depend on how much one can of coke costs.

It depends on how much a pound of aluminum is going for. The fact that they're beer cans won't make any difference.

Aluminium is much less reactive than Lithium.
