Harvard University (formerly known as Harvard College) is a beautiful and historical school, which was the first university in the United States. It has a campus that takes up much of Harvard Square in Cambridge MA. The campus includes older buildings (one goes back to the 1700s) and much newer ones, several museums, several libraries, an archives (which contains rare paintings, books and photographs related to Harvard's history), as well as the famous "Harvard Yard," an expansive grassy space, situated in the center of the campus. Once you go inside the gates, you will see some of the buildings, with their varying architectural styles (for example, the Widener Library is a huge brick building designed in the Beaux-Arts style). Harvard has a website of its own, and if you go there, you will find some pictures of the various parts of the campus.

In the 1970's, it cost $500 per term (four terms to a calendar year) to live in one of the campus dormitories at Penn State University. That included three meals a day in the cafeteria downstairs! I'm sure it costs MUCH more than that now!
