Royal Melbourne Show was created in 1848.
This is no longer the case. Melbourne used to have a Show Day public holiday every year from 1885 until it was revoked in 1994, during the time Jeff Kennett was Premier. So, in fact, there is no single "Royal Melbourne Show Day" any longer.
Heres the show dates for 2007 Thursday 20th to Saturday 29th September 9:30am - 10pm Sunday 30th 9:30am - 8:30pm.
