It will cost what you're willing to spend on it, but if you're referring to a "fancy" dress, it will easily cost anything between 2000 and 5000 Euro (or the equivalent in Dollars). Dresses like the ones the European royals have worn, were more in the range of 50.000.

If you only have a fixed budget for your dress, make sure to tell the sales person that's your maximum and please not to show you any over that budget. The worst that could happen to you is to fall in love with THE dress, only to find you could never afford it.

I'm not sure such a number would have any real meaning, since the range is so very broad. Any dress is a wedding dress if you (the bride) say it is. However, there are egotistical/sentimental/gullible (choose any or all of the above) people who spend thousands of dollars on an utterly impractical dress they will in all likelihood wear precisely twice (once for photographs, once at the wedding).

A couture wedding gown is a loosely used term these days. But typically it means that the gown is made within a couture house as opposed to a larger factory with many other designer's gowns are made. And it typically is made on shore in North America or in Europe as opposed to China where gowns are more mass produced. http://www.ubrides.com/home.php?cat=769&catexp=769
