That isn't possible. King George died in 1936 and he hasn't been featured on Canadian Coins since that year. But, 1949 pennies had King George VI on them. There are 2 varieties of 1949 cents. You need a magnifying glass to see the difference. For the "a to the denticle" variety the value is from $14 to $63. If the "a off denticle" is yours, it is worth between 2 cents and $2.25. In the future please include the condition of the coin so I can value it more precisely for you.
