America has already "BEEN" destroyed. Look at it this way... Once the Titanic had hit that chunck of ice, there was nothing left to do. The fatal damage has already been done, the real question is how long will it take us to rebuild it?

I would suggest that the turning point was at the Battle of Midway, when America destroyed much of the Japanese naval power.
The planets have been around much longer than people.
71 people were killed. Much of the city was destroyed. Many airplanes were destroyed at the airport. Many people left the city and never returned. Much of the city had to be rebuilt, making it a very different city to what it was before the cyclone hit.
Before the independence there were too much taxes and after there were too little after they tried to fix it.
