Well, it takes about 800-900MB of memory,i think. Yes, i know that it has only 256MB on its GPU chip, but it gets another 256MB from XDR in the time of need,whcich is now 512MB. The GPU is overmemorable,so u can overmem it upto 250-350MB which now bwcomes 750-850MB. PS3 has an advanced 7800GT(or,RSX as renamed by SCEI)which can take u upto 900MB even with 256MB on it.

I have a 7600GT 256MB, I play GTA 4, and i have done it on high profile.It takes 844MB.
