The suffrage groups did fight so hard to vote in the 1920s because they wanted representation. By choosing their own leaders their issues would be addressed.

For an organization fund raising, it's called a tag sale. For individuals selling their own things to raise money it's a garage sale or a yard sale.
They young people in the 1920's usually had money. Money means freedom. They began to veer away from their parents values and mores. They even had automobiles or their own horse and buggies. They could go places and meet with their peers. They had jobs and often were able to get their own places. They were able to choose their own marriage partners. It was after WWI and they felt they had become of age since many had fought in war and became men on the fighting fields. Women earned the right to work and vote and be themselves. Even fashions became shorter and trimmer.
With very few exceptions, most sovereign countries mint their own money. Not only in America but on other continents also.
A mood of isolatism in America (after the 1920 elections which saw Warren Harding as the new president) caused America to cut off from European affairs and focus on it's own economic growth.
