Fees fall into component parts.

When you create your listing, you are charged an "insertion fee" and then you can select upgrades such as adding a subtitle to your listing, or highlighting it to make it stand out in search results. The insertion fee and any upgrades are payable for every listing that you create whether the item sells or not.

If an item sells, you are then charged a "final value fee" as well.

These fees are added to your eBay Seller Account and are payable monthly.

When you accept payment through PayPal, you also pay a further fee to PayPal (although this is taken before the money hits your PayPal account).

To see the fees applicable to you, go to your local eBay site and click on the Help tab (top right of the page). In the "search the help pages" box, type "fees" and click on the search button. There will be a link to the fees at the top of the results on the following page.

It all depends on if you have the right tools and know-how to do it. I personally make between 40-50% of each sale and at the end of the month I usually have made around $3,000, putting in around 15 hours a week.
