a decent yorkshire terrier 5 years ago you would have spent £750 for one but since the credit cruch the prices have gone down because no one is willing to pay as much and you could look to buy one between £175-£500.

Yorkies vary from $400 [purebred,pet quality] to $2000[ purebred-show quality ]. Look for a good , friendly disposition no matter if your dog will be a family pet or for show.

Grooming is a requirement for this breed, not an option and should be done every 4-6 weeks, 8 weeks is feasible but pushing it depending on coat length and can range anywhere from $25 - $55 depending on where you live. How you keep the coat is up to you - the longer the coat the more at home grooming is required to prevent painful matting. For example a full coated Yorkie (the breed standard look) could require multiple brushings per day - especially if it rains and the dog gets wet while using the "restroom". You can also prorate the cost of yearly vet visits which varies widely depending on where you live.
