um it varies in nsw it is between 80k and 130k a year depending experience, qualities and oother stuff and i don't know why teachers are always wanting a pay rise caz the get that many days of teaching it ain't funny if they want more money get a part time job in the hoilidays

That's ridiculous, teachers get paid between 50K and 70K for your normal classroom teacher depending on experience, if you become an executive, like a principal or deputy that's when you move up into the 90K-100K pay rate. As for holidays, well that's when we teachers get to plan, mark, and write assignments. Hmm, why do we want a pay rise? Maybe because we are working overtime constantly and never getting paid for it. My day starts at 7am and doesn't end until around 9pm when I finish my school work for the night. Oh yeh, and everything that goes wrong with young people is always our responsibility and fault, I think we need a pay rise just for that. Have you ever tried dealing with 30 15 year olds in one room, let alone trying to teach them something?
