I'm not sure on what the average hourly rate is, but they start towards 40 k a year plus there required to work automatic overtime averaging about 50 hours a week. Also good agents tend to see pay raises in the first 3 years, after then they averave 75k a year, all in all a very great paying job.

In Washington State Firefighter make 65,000 a year but you have to do volunteer work first (2 yrs) before a fire dept will hire you. Border Patrol Agents Make around 55,000 a year. So I heard....

Civil Air Patrol pilots do not make money. They are civilian volunteers.
Last I heard it was about 35K, then again, others are saying 40K. I'm interested in joining myself. Also, you get a lot of over time and 10% of your pay if you work night and 25% if you work on Sundays.

I work for a school district and about $15 per hour here. We're paid lower then working for a private company though usually.
