We actually wuld not be saving money. They would be required to raise prices so that prices are all divisible by fives.

Actually a penny saved is BETTER than a penny earned because if you had to earn the penny you would be taxed on your earnings whereas any savings on expenditure go straight to your personal (or corporate "bottom line". It is not wise to invest a large sum of money in penny stocks, since it is easy for the investments to go bad and one would then lose a lot of hard-earned money.
I would say that banning text would be a conservative idea. Texting is considered to be a liberal and free idea, so banning it while driving would be conservative.

If Jim and Maria saved money in the ratio 8:12, Maria's savings written as a fraction of Jim's saving would be 1 and 1/2. If Maria saved $150, Jim would have saved $100. To have saved $400 dollars all together, Maria would have had to save $240.
