About one half, 50%. The other half is night time.
Because the sun, the moon, and the Earth are constantly changing their relative positions with respect to each other, different parts of the moon are illuminated by the sun, from the viewpoint of a given observer at a given time. The part of the moon that is not illuminated can't be seen from Earth, it is just a dark moon against the darkness of space.
Half of the Earth at a time.
50%
It takes a year or the earth to orbit the sun.
At any given time, half (50%) of Earth is exposed to sunlight.
Darkness. Night time
Since the Sun is larger than the earth, it will illuminate slightly more than 50% of the earth at any given time, illuminating more the closer it is. To determine the exact percentage of the earth the sun illuminates, requires either a very accurate scale model and light monitoring equiptment, or if you are good at math, requires you to find one common tangent to the surface of both Sun and Earth i.e. a straight line that touches the surface of the Earth and Sun at only one point each. This will allow you calculate the answer to your question. Unfortunately, I have forgotten some of the differential calculus I think you need to do this. I can tell you that if the Sun were infinitely large, it would illuminate an infintesimal amount less than 100% of the earth and if the Earth and Sun had the same diameter, it would illuminate exactly 50% of the earth. Good luck and cheers.

Time Flutes cannot be given to XD Gale of Darkness because there not holdable items. If they were you would need to have a pokemon hold the item then trade it from Colosseum to a GBA game then trade it again to XD Gale of Darkness.
Time of our Darkness was created in 2001.
Earth has day and nights because the sun can only shine on one part of the Earth at a time, resulting in one half of the Earth in darkness, and one half of the Earth with light. The days and nights last only 12 hours because the Earth rotates around the sun once every 24 hours. Half of the time, the sun will shine an a particular spot on the Earth, the other half of the time, the sun will not shine causing darkness.
Time of our Darkness has 328 pages.
The Earth ALWAYS faces the Sun. However, the Earth rotates. So one half of the Earth is in sunlight (Day time) and the other half of the Earth is in darkness (night time). We always face the Sun, because we , the Earth, is held there in its orbit about the Sun , because of Sun/Earth gravity.
The sunlight, which marks the coming of the dawn, can only cover so much of the Earth's surface at any one time. Therefore, Japan would greet the dawn much earlier than America, who would still be in darkness.
