About 1/3 of the colonists supported the revolution. These were mostly the less-wealthy, such as the silversmiths or printers, the more "mundane" jobs.
Remember, it was 1/3 all the way around: 1/3 supported the war, 1/3 were against it, and 1/3 were on the fence about it.
