How much time did it take for Apollo spacecraft to reach the moon?

3 days

Did the spacecraft Apollo 13 survive the trip?

Yes Apollo 13 very much survived the space trip to the moon and back.

What was the second day of Apollo 13 like?

The second day of Apollo 13 was much the same as the second days on Apollo 8, Apollo 10, Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 before it with the crew performing a brief television tour for audiences back on Earth of their spacecraft while coasting to the moon. Astronauts Jim Lovell and Fred Haise also powered up the Lunar Module Aquarius to check its systems before their planned Lunar landing on April 14th 1970.Of course, mere hours after completing their television broadcast Jack Swigert was instructed to stir the hydrogen and oxygen tanks, famously causing an explosion which crippled the spacecraft and made impossible any Lunar landing.

Is Buzz Aldrin dead?

Buzz is alive and he is the last survivor that went onto the Apollo 11 spacecraft.

Why the team of the lead actor in the movie Apollo 13 failed to stop on the moon?

Apollo 13 is not just a made up movie plot! It was a real event involving real people's lives. They did not stop on the moon because if they did they would have died there with no means of getting back. They were in a severely damaged spacecraft. The Service Module had lost much of its oxygen and the explosion of the tank had destroyed a major part of the spacecraft's electrical and water supply system. The only fully functional spacecraft available was the Lunar Module, it had to be used to bring them back to earth, not expended on something of lesser criticality like its original intended mission of landing on the moon. Priorities!

How much did the Apollo 5 mission cost?

There was no Apollo 5

Why did nasa cancel the Apollo program?

NASA didn't cancel Apollo so much as shifted perspective and focus, and reprioritized. Apollo was hugely successful, and its mission objectives were largely met. There is no pat, easy answer to this however. Books have been written to explain it, or try to. One such example that does a great job is Chariots for Apollo: A History of Manned Lunar Spacecraft by Courtney G. Brooks, James M. Grimwood, and Loyd S. Swenson. See the epilogue in the related link below.

Why is oxygen stored as a liquid rather than a gas?

Oxygen stored on an airplane is generally not stored as a liquid, but as a highly pressurized gas. The oxygen system is commonly pressurized to more than 1800 psi, allowing a large amount of gas stored in a very small space. The pressures involved require a very robust container, and so it often looks like a bottle that you would use to contain liquids. However, emergency ambulance helicopters will often use a system which stores the oxygen as a liquid. This is done to save on weight and space as liquid oxygen containers can hold much more oxygen in a much thinner container. The hazards involved in preparing, storing, and carrying liquid oxygen makes it inappropriate for every-day use in civilian aircraft.

How much does a spacecraft cost?

Why was the Apollo thirteen re-entry communications black out so long?

For the Apollo 13 mission, the blackout was much longer than normal because the flight path of the spacecraft was unexpectedly at a much shallower angle than normal.[4] According to the mission log maintained by Gene Kranz, the Apollo 13 re-entry blackout lasted around 6 minutes, beginning at 142:39 and ending at 142:45, and was 1 minute 27 seconds longer than had been predicted.

Why was Apollo 17 the last mission?

Apollo 17 was the last apollo rocket to go to space because it was to much money.

Why is most space exploration accomplished with spacecraft without astronauts?

The most obvious answer to your question is the fact that people have to return to earth, while an unmanned craft can stay in space infinitely. Manned spacecraft require things like oxygen, water, food and communications equipment, none of which are required by an unmanned spacecraft. That means unmanned spacecrafts can be sent into space for a fraction of the cost of a manned spacecraft. So basically, it's much cheaper and safer to send unmanned spacecrafts to explore the universe.
