∙ 15y agoIt depends on the college and the dynamic of the people in that particular department. If applications are handed out and weeded by individuals, then those people have individual power about whether to allow a particular student to make it to the next level or not... *if* that application came to that person. If it is a committee it depends in large part on how the committee members work together, what kind of applicants they are looking at, and what their policies are for choosing. An individual doesn't usually have power to break the rules and offer a position to someone who doesn't meet the college's minimum requirements, for instance. But it depends on a lot of things how much power anyone involved would have.

∙ 15y agoAn Assistant Director is higher than an Associate Director. So I imagine that the Senior Assistant Director is higher on the chain of command than the Senior Associate Director.
It depends on the individuals position within the office. There are a number of positions. The division admissions falls under is typically Student Services. The admissions office has admissions clerks, administrative assistants, enrollment specialists (formerly admissions counselors), assistant director, and director. There are also student workers. Structures may vary from institution to institution.
