As long as a hamster has a wheel in its cage it can exercise when it wants to. You can also put it in its ball for around 15 minutes each day for additional exercise.
great answer but what i dont get is that i have 2 wheels and a ball bu only actually fills them up with sawdust and goes in its ball instead what should i do if he only goes in his ball? should i give him more excercise?
I had this exact problem with my hamster, but mine was in a wire cage. Originally I took the wheel off at night time, so that it didn't wake me up, however after a time I realised this was pretty unfair on the hamster as hamsters are nocturnal, and so are most active at night. The hamster needs the exercise and so by taking the wheel of I was depriving it of that. In the end I decided to move the hamsters cage in the room next door and shut the door. It was much quieter, and didn't make much difference as I could always go next door to play with it. Its the best idea because then the hamster gets the exercise and you get the sleep. Everyone wins.
If you dont play with your hamster it will quickly get very lonely and therefore more vicious. If you have one hamster it will get more lonely as at least with two, they have eachother. You must play with your hamster i you want it to lead a happy normal life. I guess giving it treats or letting run around your room is better that not playing with it at all because at least then it gets some freedom and a different scenery. But playing with your hamster is always better!
Yes, they do fight. Me and my sister had two female guinea pigs in the same cage, and had to separate them because they constantly fought. The more energetic one would always jump and bug the other one, and she would always whine and cry. If you have two female guinea pigs, its a good idea to separate them!if you put them together when their babies and they grow up together they will not fight. My sister had two hamsters, cinderella and pixie, and they did'nt fight until ine had a baby and killed each other.
Nothing. Hamsters always clean and itch themselves. They just have a tendency to do that, my hamster does that. Hope I helped =)
Yes, because my hamster Maxwell climbs the cage every night and i look at it always, when he fell down he is still ACTIVE because you need to put some saw dust or wood shavings for your hamster so that when he/she falls down he/she will not get injured.
yes it is ok i have 2 hammys and they are always ready to go in their weels and in their ball in the evening and they usually run all through the night.
Exercise, exercise, and exercise always exercise and stay in shape because you can live longer
always get someone that is not scared to be biten like my classmate because my hamster bites and my classsmate is always playing with my hamster that's why my hamster do not bite everyone but sometimes he bites only but not everyday by kyanne Marie b. sapnu i am 10 years old thank you
To be honest I don't think it really matters. I always had clear because I think that it is better for the hamster to see where the are going.
It does this because it's teething.
Because you are always running, thous exercising.
probably because they need something hard to trimm their teeth because it is getting long.
Outside is the best idea because we have a springer spaniel puppy and whenever it comes in it always pees or poops in the only carpet room in the whole house plus they are teething so they always want to chew.
ive always heard that they cant because they are a cross bread. but a boy robo and a girl russian can, it makes no sense!

Give them a wheel and they'll get all of the exercise they need.Well hamsters should have good exercise from its wheel in the cage but i would consider getting it a hamster ball and/or playpen. You should take it out of its cage for about 20 minutes a day and put it in a ball or playpen.
Any hamster is easy to hold but is depends on how you treat it but if you want to hold a hamster you need to check its water and food and of course the hamster SO ALWAYS REMEMBER TO TREAT YOUR HAMSTER WITH RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
