First thing is set the room up with new and clean blanket and bedding. Maybe put up some baby wall paper of your liking just to give the room a spark.

Nagging a child to clean their room would be considered positive punishment, where an undesired stimulus (nagging) is applied to decrease the likelihood of a behavior (not cleaning the room).
