Why do habitats require space? That is because of overpopulation. Too many organisms in one space can lead to many problems such as food shortage, no shelter, and water shortage, causing competetion. That is why organisms need enough space in a habitat to not cause overpopulation. |:D

Habitats refer to places that living things live in. Everything needs a habitat. Take yourself, for instance. What would you do if you did not have the place to live in like you are living in now? Every living thing needs a place to live, that is their habitat, that is where they are at. And then realize that we all share the Earth's habitat. And we really need it as it is our only place to live. There are no habitats in space, that we know of, yet.
The animals that went into space were usually monkeys or dogs. The Russians used dogs and the United States used monkeys for most of the animal flights into space. Fruit flies were the first living things used for space flight testing.
