It might well depend on the wording of the law in your particular state. Are felons prevented by law from possessing or wearing bullet-proof vests in your state?
A typical football helmet is not bullet proof but someone could create a bullet proof football helmet.
At any police/security equipment dealer, or possibly as a military surplus military item. Check your local Yellow Pages.
I don't believe bullet proof vest were available during that time................
There are several types of bullet proof vests that have been invented. For details, see the attached link.

If you are a felon, you can not possess a bullet proof vest.
Not necessarily, unless they have reason to suspect you stole it or are lying. That said, it'd be regarded with suspicion and will not make anythign easier for you.
Yes they can. But may they? It is illegal for a felon to purchase or possess a bullet-proof vest in the U.S. under federal law.
Not any more than any other product you may have. Bullet proof vests are legal to own in the U.S. unless you are a felon (in some states) or are using it while committing a crime. Generally speaking, you don't have to keep proof of products you have bought on you, and the only reason you should have a problem is if an officer thinks it's stolen for some reason.
Changed: No, not legally. Even more: In the United States, it is illegal for a felon to possess a bullet-proof vest, and it is illegal for ANYONE to possess one during the commission of a crime.
Not using it to commit a crime no problem. You look kinda funny and please remember, they are not bullet proof. They are bullet resistant and only up to a certain level defined by its classification. Most police wear a level IIa
yes...to wear, buy, and own, but not for a felon.
Most state will consider a felon wearing a bulletproof vest as a felony--almost as bad as if the felon had been caught with a firearm.
first off u shouldn't be buying gun proof vest.
In Texas, i researched it as much as i could, and yes you can UNLESS your a FELON.
In the U.S. having a bullet proof vest isn't illegal unless you are a felon (in some states) or are committing a crime while wearing it.
BOTH my parents are CHICAGO police SERGEANTS. n i also know a lot of CHICAGO police because of this... all of them told me it is COMPLETELY LEGAL to OWN/WEAR a bulletproof vest AS LONG AS its not during the commission of a CRIME or as long as you are not a Felon or have a WARRANT issued for your ARREST.
