If you are changing the fluid yourself it will require somewhere around 7-8qt that is just removing the pan and filter. With a flush it would be somewhere around 16qt. Your owner Manuel should list the fluid capacities. It is a good idea to measure the amount of fluid you removed and replace with the same amount. then topping of as need. If I am not mistaken there is no Dipstick on the transmission for the Pontiac G6. On the TOP of the transmission on the DRIVERS side there is a filler cap where you can Add new fluid. Hope this helps.

When changing the transmission fluid of any car, it is important to know how much fluid to put in. A 2001 Pontiac Sunfire takes 2.5-3 quarts of transmission fluid.
When changing fluids in a car, it is important to know the fluid capacity of the car. A 1999 Pontiac Grand AM holds about 5 quarts of transmission fluid.

it is sugested that you change the fluid every sixty or so thousand, however there isn't relly that much going on in a manul transmission so you don't ever need to change it.
The transmission of a 94 Chevy Camaro holds a total of 12 quarts but usually only 5 are needed when performing a fluid change. Much of the fluid remains in the transmission and torque converter.
