A2 You presume that the poisoned rat died from a coumarin derivitive which causes the rat to die from internal hemorrhaging. There are only a few rat poisons that still use coumarin (warfarin). In any event, because of the difference in body weight, it is unlikely that the dog received a lethal dose from eating one rat. As the first answer recommends, take the remains of the rat, the dog, and the label or container of the rat poison to the vet and let the vet take it from there.
