No, ocean water has mostly salt water in it. You can get most fresh water from ponds, lakes, etc.

Lakes; probably not. Sharks are salt-water creatures, and spending much time in a fresh water lake would kill it. Bays? Yes, certainly.
There is 12% fresh water in the great lakes... Got this answer from a meteorologist :P :3.... Like if this helped you
Only about 1.7% of earths water is drinkable fresh water, so conserve it! Most of the fresh water is found in glaciers
100% because of hill billies
Later in summer, South Dakota usually does not get much rain, so the water in the lakes do not get 'stirred' or have fresh water added so that fresh oxygen does not get mixed into the water. Then, the phosphorus in the sediments at the bottom of the lake are released, causing algae to grow. It is this algae growth that makes the lakes "turn green".
An ocean is much bigger and deeper. A lake is much smaller in size and is not as deep. In addition, the oceans are salt water while most lakes are fresh water.
Fresh Water Usally meaans good, clean, and healthy, water. So if your asking why theres not much its simply because people have to clean the water you use because we get water from lakes and lakes come from the ocean. The only reason the ocean is so clean with all the animals living in it is because of the salt.[That's why pool people are starting to put salt instead of chlorine in pools.] And the lakes don't have salt in them so they are pretty dirty it takes a while to clean the water you use that's why theres not enough fresh water.
