1000 square feet to paint? You can paint 400 feet squared with one gallon. so you need to know how high the wall is 8 feet high by 1000 feet 8x1000 = 8000 square feet divided by 400feet per a gallon = 20 gallons one coat. just x the amount of coats you want to do and your good to go. You realy need to measure each wall and go HxL divided by 400feet per a gallon and this will tell you how many gallons will be needed to paint each wall and corner.

If you paint one square metre of roof white you will save 107.5 kilograms of greenhouse gas equivalent over a twenty year period. If you paint your whole (1000 square feet : 93 square metres) roof white, you will save 10 tonnes of greenhouse gas equivalent over the twenty year lifetime of your paint. If the white paint is well-bonded to the surface, and the red is very fresh, a lot of times you can use a sharp razor blade to peel the red paint off the white. If the red is stuck on there, I would use a sanding block to remove as much red paint as I could without damaging much of the white paint, then put a coat of white paint over the area. Next time, get a newspaper and tape it to the white walls to protect the building.
Red PAINT! (Usually VERY little is needed) yes VERY VERY VERY little is needed, PROBABLY at a ratio of about 15:1 white:red

The answer will depend on the quality of the paint, the coverage of the paint and the preparation of the surface being painted. The Lowe's paint calculator says primer covers 200 square feet per gallon, and paint covers 350 square feet per gallon. Assuming for a dark surface you need at least 2 coats, and you are only using paint and not primer, and not knowing the type of paint, I would start with 3 gallons to be sure you have enough for 2 coats, and then see how it looks. If you need three coats, you might still have enough.
