The toll on the Throgs Neck Bridge is not increasing on September 18th. The Throgs Neck Bridge connects the Bronx to Queens, and thus it is an MTA (Metro Transit Authority) facility. The MTA is New York State's transit authority.
The new tolls effective September 18 are for the Port Authority crossings. The Port Authority runs the crossings that connect New York to New Jersey. The Throgs Neck Bridge does not connect to New Jersey, thus, it is not run by the Port Authority and the new tolls do not apply to it.
