Just picked one up today at Grammercy Typewriter in downtown Manhattan- $225. I highly recommend this place.

My Smith Corona typewriter is worth about 2,500 its antique
condition plays an important role when pricing a typewriter. I've purchased one a couple of days ago for $10.00
nothing, its a type writer, and its not all that old
I suggest you get it appraised by an expert. See if you can get in touch with a typewriter restorer or collector. I doubt the average antique store dealer will know anything on the matter.
