after completing a pharmcy school, you are given a PharmD degree (Doctor of Pharmacy). if you want to become a medical doctor, you will have to go to a medical school.
Yeah of course... Go to school for 2-4 years undergrad with a focus in pharmacy. Take the PCAT. If you do well you can then probably get admitted to a Doctor of Pharmacy program (Pharm D). Get through the 4 years of pharmacy school, pass the state board exam in the state you wish to practice. Then practice pharmacy as a pharmacist.
To become a pharmacist it normally takes 4 years of school. However most people go to school for 8 years, 4 years at an undergrad school and 4 years of pharmacy school.
The University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy is the only pharmacy school in the state. You can complete pre-pharmacy coursework at UNM or another university before applying to pharmacy school. Currently, 3 years of prerequisite courses are required before applying. After acceptance, it is a 4 year program culminating in a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD). Yes you do if your referring to a pharmacist. There have been changes in the requirements in recent years. The degree now is a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D).
There is no "degree" in high school. You complete your 4 years or you don't and at the end you get a diploma. To become a doctor you must attend college after high school and that is 12+ years of school for a medical degree.
It takes about 7 years in medical school for someone to become a doctor.
You must be a medical doctor to become a hospitalist.
After finishing school you need to take up studies in a Medical School for 5 years to qualify as a Doctor, and you will need another 8 years to train as a Specialist Doctor
After college, the minimum schooling to become a doctor is 4 years of medical school, and then a minimum of 3 years of residency.
First you have to graduate from high school, and that takes 12 years of schooling. Then you have to go to pre-pharmacy school. Many pre-pharmacy schools require you to have a bachelor's degree prior to being accepted at their school. Other pre-pharmacy schools only require some prior college coursework. Pre-pharmacy school can take as little as a year if you already have a relevant bachelor's degree in math or science. Pre-pharmacy school will take about two years if you did not get a relevant bachelor's degree prior to being accepted. After pre-pharmacy school, you will need about four years of more focused coursework and and internship, which are likely to be done simultaneously to some extent. The total years needed after high school varies. I would say two years at a university working towards a science major plus two years in pre-pharmacy school plus four years of focused coursework and the internship equals an average of about eight years after high school.
